Nice collection man, I'm literally choking with jealousy :( Lovin the M1 carbine and SKS, I have to say tho that your MAK90 is just hideous! Get a real damn AK with a proper stock :p

(Also slightly disturbed that two of your guns were the same models used in Columbine.... creepy)

I sold that MAK-90 a little while ago, made a good profit on my investment. Yes, the stock is ugly, but that action was very smooth and the rifle was fairly accurate. I have 2 other SKS rifles, with wooden stocks. I used to have a Russian, Albanian and 2 others that took AK magazines. Sold them all when ammo prices went up. I used to pay $70 per 1,000 of 7.62x39 now it's 3, 4 times as much. :(
I also tend to collect the unusual, like this PAR-3
    par1kk9.jpg
    par2bt8.jpg
    par3ul9.jpg
    par4sq7.jpg
It's a Pump action AK :D yes, strange and it's fun to shoot.

As far as the Columbine guns goes, it's not the gun that is the cause of evil in the world it's the mentality behind it. If all governments would understand this, there wouldn't be so much restrictions on guns.

The Hi-Point I bought long after the Columbine incident, it's a cheap 9mm carbine and is fun to shoot. The TEC you see is a early model KG-99 mini that was actually made one year in 1985 by a company called Interdynamic. Another fun gun, but sadly I just sold it last week to someone in South Dakota. Let me know what you think and I will put photos up on this thread. :pac:

Were mad jealous here. Our Nanny state ruled by dodgy chancers always on a stroke, wont let us follow our interests. I ama member of the Vintage Classic rifle association of Ireland, but will more than likely have to be happy with only one classic rifle. There so many I would like to have. Got to shot the M1 Carbine in Germany last December. Wel Impressed. Fired the Moisin Nagant today for the first time, and now I want one. waiting on a licence at the moment on a .303 enfield.
Damn give me a green card for the US, and I d be gone.

cheers, Nice collection by the way

Sorry about the state of affairs with the gun laws and such, I didn't intend to make anyone feel bad by showing what we have in US. Actually the future looks grim for most of us in the US too, but at lease we have a chance to buy before the laws are changed.
Right at this point, I am happy with what I have and just leave me alone so I can go shoot out in the desert from time to time. Some like golf, I like to shoot at dirt and watch it kick up. :pac:

Scottsdale, Great spot! I lived in AZ back in 98. Member of Caswell in Mesa Would give my left one to live there now. Nice to be able to say, " I'd like an m1 garand ., and go out and buy it. Without any crapology. I mean, we're genuine shooters, not muppets. Let us pursue our interests!!!!!!!!

Sorry about the Columbine comment man, stupid thing to say really, just caught my eye. And yeah I heard the MAK90 has a smooth-as-silk action, but I just cant get my head round that AWB stock  Anyway, sweet collection my friend.

However, I hereby propose a complete ban on American posters putting up their pics and making us all feel jealous here in Ireland! Mods? :pac: :D :pac:

    Kryten,
Did you ever go to the Cross roads of the West gunshow in Phoenix fair grounds??Picture the RDS under one roof, dedicated totally to everything shooting related .Held once every two months in either AZ,CA or NV.
And thats considerd just the local pokey county fair.:eek:
A serious case of lock up your credit cards.

Garands, the director of civillian markmanship [a US govt body] is still selling them for appx 200 usd for a good condition one to US citizens..

The day that the Irish gubmint would consider selling back to the Irish taxpayer some of it's property like surplus FN FALs or Enfields will be one to see.:rolleyes::rolleyes:

Grizzly, are you *sure* the CMP is a state body?
(And they do that a fair bit, selling firearms at cost to members to boost target shooting as a sport - that would be an interesting thing for NGBs here to try alright!)

It was created by Congress and until 1996 was administered by the US Army. Since then there's a 501(c)(3) which administers it and the only government involvement is donation of surplus rifles. So, it used to be a state body, now it's a non-profit with some government support.

Cheers Conor, didn't know their history. I've only ever seen them as an independent crowd. (Still think NGBs should swipe that trick though :D )

I don't believe the States ever had anything to do with it. I think it was a Federal body.

Sorry, I was using "state" in the Irish sense of "nation state". State body vs private body. That kind of thing.

I can see how it could have been confusing. :o

Four years ago you'd have said that about the idea of all the shooting bodies and the other firearms law stakeholders having regular formal meetings with the Department of Justice to help in drafting legislation...

Yes, they are having formal meetings, BUT, lets not jump the gun yet :) we still have to see if their "help" has been included in the legislation................ as the legislation hasn't been made public yet ;)

Yes it has, or haven't you read the Clubs and Ranges SIs? Large amounts of stuff went into those from the FCP.

On The DCM thing,it has been the target of anti gunners in Congress for years now, with the usual hysterical rants and raves as to why it should be abolished. So I could not see this shower in charge here encouraging the mere civillians of this land to take up shooting. After all,we cant be trusted with hanguns now can we?:(:(:rolleyes:And we have the disappointing habit of adapting the worst things in law from other countries, notably the UK and US and non of the worthwhile from there.
As for the FCP, lets see how much exactly is adapted in the new law of their advice when it comes out.Proof of puddings and all that.
