Anyone know about LPG Conversions? For example say a 3.0 litre petrol Audi A6 with a conversion kit fitted.

Is there any savings to be had on Vrt?
Also any savings on road tax?
Is there many places to refill in Ireland?

There's simply no demand for LPG here.

    +1

The only reason there is demand in some other countries for LPG is because it has been made fiscally attractive. In the Netherlands for instance, a litre of petrol costs roughly €1.50, LPG is €0.50. You pay more motor tax if your car runs on LPG but a conversion of a 3l petrol car pays for itself within a year on average mileage. You can imagine LPG is very popular in the Netherlands.

Give a guy called John a ring in Mountainview Motors - 01 548 2633. They're up past Ballinascorney - he used to fit these conversions and was only one doing it after Paddy Lumley's in Kimmage stopped doing conversions.

I had one fitted to a 1989 1.6 Passat quite few years ago and the savings on fuel were incredible. But do bear in mind what has been stated in previous posts - LPG is virtually impossible to get at filling stations nowadays. To be sure, maybe you should call Flogas or Calorgas to see if any forecourts still supply LPG. They were the two main suppliers back when LPG was popular.
