    Thanks for reply

Now this may sound bizzare but when i go to C drive there is no documents and settings folder

I've located an AVG folder under program files but there is no .ctf files

any1 know what other folder this could be in?

I know normally you see a documents and settings folder but i cannot locate it on my PC:confused::confused:

If you're a fellow Vista sufferer, there's no C:\Documents & Settings folder any more. All your stuff is hidden away in C:\Users.

But to fix the AVG problem in Vista, you need to delete the .CTF files from the folder C:\ProgramData\avg8\update\download.

C:\ProgramData is a hidden folder. If you can't see it in Windows Explorer, select "Tools" then "Folder Options..." from the Explorer menu, click on the "View" tab, select the "Show hidden files and folders" button, click on "Apply" and "OK".

    Have fun!

Where would we be without Google?
