Is anyone inside or outside the Cairn Hill tx reception service area experiencing a drop in signal level since yesterday and poor reception on all four channels. Reports would be appreciated.

Outside Tullamore all ok today. I had problems last week for couple of days but fine since then

Im south of tuam, usually reception good. using high gain a group B aerial and amp, RTE 1 is def down and TG4 worse than normal I (always the weakest). Any other reports would be welcome, i not convinced they are transmittin on full power at the moment. signal was awful there last month for a while

Just tuned in, and yes. power o/p seems to be down.

    I live in Mullingar

Thanks Mullingar is well within the service area so you can imagine the effect its having outside of it! All 4 channels are down. Any professional with a spectrum analyser want to do a field strenght test. Getting 51-52 db here before amplification and prior to power drop. No point contacting RTÉ as they will tell you all is fine.

Is DTT up and running on Cairn Hill yet? Is it possible to reciever DTT in Mullingar at the moment.

I live in Dublin and a friend from out that way has been asking me since I got a combo box.

I think we will be in for a wait. I think I saw on some document from the RTENL website that Cairn Hill is in line for DTT after Maghera (which is my local transmitter) It cant come soon enough. No more pictures with noise etc.

Thats a load shyza isn't it considering the area Cairn covers.

Do you think it would be possible to get Three rock with an high gain aerial from mullingar?

According to another post DTT is on air from Cairn Hill on ch 41, 4 terrestrial channels. Would explain why analogue reception has taken a dropm esp TV 3 and TG 4.
