    Hi there,

I accidently deleted a folder from my HDD that contained lots of music. I realised this when windows media player said files were missing. I have since undeleted the the files and have placed them in a folder called "recovered music" Is there anyway of getting the files in the library to now look in the recovered music folder to find the "missing" music.

I have over 10 playlists that are nearly empty!

In the library options (click the down arrow on library tab ) click monitor folders and add it there, however the playlists wont work unless you put the files back in the exact same folders they where in previously.

Oh make sure the box for delete files from computer when deleted from library " is UNCHECKED

Monitor folders and add the new folder?

or else drag and drop the folder in media player ?

Does monitoring folders actually work, and if anyone has seen it work, when does it update? On next restart? It never seems to work for me, I end up having to scan the drive I have music on before it finds anything new.

when i add folders to monitor it automatically scans all monitored folders and adds in the new music files, so there must be something wrong with your install of media player.

I have a folder on a second drive in my PC that it's set up to monitor (e:\Music), but when I add new music, I keep them in folders under e:\music - maybe Media Player doesn't monitor subfolders (though it finds them when I force a scan).

Behaviour was similar with v9; only upgraded to v11 in the past week, and current XP is less than a week fresh, so doubt it's an install issue.

I must try it again, I only added one new folder since the fresh install last weekend, all others were found as part of the first-time run.
