How would ownership documentation be sorted when you buy a car like this from auction, I presume the people who traded in these cars would have signed the form to say a motor dealer purchased it, would this then cause problems when you try to register it yourself or would Shannon accept this?

Chapmans would have had no say on that, they are in receivership they have no say on anything.

That's a pretty strong statement, care to elaborate on your personal experiences that would lead you to say something like that?

If you can't back it up then shut up. As a minimum you should be at least be able to qualify your post. Until you can, I'll assume your making it up.

We used to get our company discoveries serviced there. Around Oct last year one of my colleagues got the below Volvo as a courtesy car. I had the misfortune of being a passenger in it one day. Two front tyres bald, down to the wire in some places. Tax way out of date. Pretty big crack on the windscreen. Personally, I would have refused to drive it.

Another time they tried to give us a passenger freelander which a farmer had been using as a sheep transporter by the looks of it.

So if anyone is planning to grap a 'bargain' on Saturday, make sure you give the vehicle a good look over beforehand.

FYI, if you move to a 'smart' meter electricity plan, you CAN'T move back to a non-smart plan.

You don't have to take a 'smart' meter if you don't want one, opt-out is available.

Buy drinks in 3L or bigger plastic bottles or glass bottles or cartons to avoid the DRS fee.

This would be standard practice for any car purchase I'd imagine ?

Does anyone get the snapshot from Merlin?? There's a particular vehicle I'm trying to get the details of sale price on.

I see the tyre changing machine and wheel balancer up for Auction anyone know what they would be worth? was thinking of buying one for the garage but haven't a clue what to pay for it.

As regards Chapmans as a garage we bought all our Range rovers and before those Volvos from them and always found them quite easy to deal with and pay for servicing etc. It's a shame to see them go.

Yep, but sometimes people don't bother or get a chance to at an auction.
There is only so much you can inspect during the viewing times. No test drives either.

I think Merlin are auctioning/have auctioned off a lot of their stock as well.
