O'Leary is to scrap check in by the end of the year with just a baggage drop off point in his latest cost cutting move. Currently it costs e30 per bag to drop it off and check in at the counter.

I could see exactly where this is going. Arriive 3 hours before the flight departs to make sure you can get your bag on.

What will they do about the people that are currently not allowed to check in online, for example non EU citizens?

Or those whose passports expire within 30 days or those who are flying domestically without a passport. Also, as has happened a few times in the past where the online checkin system was down or printing out blank barcodes. I assume they will still maintain at least one or two checkin desks at each airport.

And what about people who are stuck in the arse end of nowhere at their destinations with no Internet access to do the online check-in?

Someone hasn't thought this through completely methinks.

They never said anything about removing their customer service desks, these have credit card readers.
