How much is an old deck worth?

Hi guys,

I have an old deck of Magic the Gathering cards. I was wondering if it is worth selling or should I just throw it out?

I bought the deck about 8-10 years ago with a few booster decks (it's about 2 inch's thick). A friend of mine had discovered the game while in college and introduced me to it. I didn't have the same interest as others had in the game at the time, I think it was because I have a short attention span.

Recently I found the deck in an old cupboard and I was wondering if it might be worth a few quid?

Any replies would be very much appreciated.

Well, specific cards go a long way to deciding the price of the deck. Generally though, 8-10 years old would generally mean at least some of the cards would be worth something.

Still, if you have time, have a look at some of the cards and throw up the names here; we should be able to give you a reasonable idea of what to expect. You'll need a card list to be able to sell them anywhere anyways as nobody is going to buy a deck simply based on the fact that it is 8-10 years old

There is about 150/200 cards in all. That is a lot of cards to be listing, is there some special traits that I should be looking out for? Whether that be cost in mana or its effect.

There doesnt seem to be anything significantly sellable. Nothing that screams out at me as a big money maker really. There are a few uncommons that might sell for a few euro if you can find the rigt buyer, but based on that list, I'd probably not give it much thought. Find a younger relative or child of a relative and give them the cards. Give them a brief explanation as to how to play it and send them to the website for further rules. If they take it up then you've paid it forward; if not, I honestly dont think you or they would lose anything major by just binning them
