The 'Deer Cull' thread

    Hi all.

As you'll no doubt have noticed, the 'Deer Cull' thread has been removed.
This has been done solely in the interests of protecting Boards.ie from potential litigation, and for no other reason.

We can clearly see that this is an emotive topic, but some of the sentiments expressed in the thread were veering very close to (if not beyond) the point at which the law-talkers and other sensitive souls start getting twitchy.

It's now the early hours of Saturday morning, and none of the mods here present at the moment know anything about the ins and outs or the rights and wrongs of the situation, so on balance and in the best interests of Boards.ie, we feels it's best to close the thread for the moment until we can get some clarification on what's going on.

The thread is not deleted, it's just been removed from public view for a while; it will reappear in due course, as this subject appears to be very much worthy of discussion, but it has to be done in a way that isn't prejudicial to the forum.

Can we respectfully ask that everyone let the subject lie for the moment, and we'll do our best to come up with a solution that's reasonably acceptable to everyone after the weekend, when we have a full compliment of moderators back available and have had a chance to do some research on the subject?

Best regards, and thanks for your understanding,
    Rovi.
