invisalign is only for mild crookedness

To answer your question OP, yes, you can have them removed, if a dentist was willing

But I wouldnt recommend it, and it'd take years, unless you get dentures

If you got them removed, you'd hafta let it heal, then get dental implants, and wait for ages again til they're fully healed, and thats if your body accepts them alright, THEN you'd get the fake teeth put in

So, braces will be just as long, maybe shorter, but its your natural teeth

    Look into Accelerated Orthondontics

They're the same as nornal braces, but you wear them for a much shorter time

    Hi

I went through the same last year. I had appointment made to get two top teeth veneered, this process involves shaving near all your natural tooth away to a point. The morning of appointment I cancelled, i would regret it for rest of my lift.

I then looked into getting 6 month braces, i was an ideal candidate. I am finished treatment, only took 5 months and i have perfectly straight teeth. I wear an aligner at night now at thats it.

Please look into this or as other poster recommended, Invisilagn.

From watching all these 'Extreme Makeover' programmes, many people seem to think we all have to have the perfect teeth. Personally, perfect teeth look false. There's nothing wrong with a bit of individuality, unless you are extremely uncomfortable , don't be hung up about your teeth.

How dead-set are you against braces? I was pretty sure I didn't want them, and also cried a good bit the first day I got mine on because I was sure that they looked like the most hideous things ever.

A year on, I reckon it's the best decision I've ever made. I'm not always thrilled with having them on, but they're working their magic and my teeth are great. I've got clear ones on top (not ceramic, but actually clear, so they don't stand out white on slightly off-white teeth) and honestly they can't be seen in photos or anything. From a distance, they're not visible at all (occasionally people sitting across the table from me have failed to notice them).

They're probably your best option for perfect teeth if you're not an invisalign candidate, and you could even look into the "6 month braces" idea too, which would only focus on the visual imperfection.

If you want more braces info, the name of my ortho, or any of that, just send me a message.

    Hiya,

I had very crooked teeth, my bottom teeth were just a mess and one of my top front teeth and the one beside it were overlapping at awful angles, and I got Invisalign. Most people take about 6-8 months with Invisalign, I've had mine for a year and a half (just shows how bad they were) and I'm 4 weeks from finishing them and my teeth look amazing, it was totally worth it, and no matter how bad you think yours are I doubt it would take anywhere near as long as mine.

The Invisalign are great too because you can take them off to eat and stuff, and honest to God nobody has ever noticed I had them until I pointed them out :)

Hi OP, if I can give you any advice it is to go for braces while you are young (I am assuming you are in your twenties - I'm not sure why).

I am 35, I work as a lawyer and I am about to embark on getting braces - I WISH I had done it when I was in my twenties but I didn't. The way I look at it, you only get one shot at life. If you don't get braces because you are afraid of what people will think, you are only letting yourself down. You have to be strong and do what is right for you. It is your life.
