Ask not what your country can do for you but what you can do
    for your country!!!

The return of the Peoples Ferry is about to become a reality due to
    http://www.bringbacktheswanseacorkferry.com a community, co-op
and people based campaign to bring the peoples ferry back.

A lesson in not waiting for politicians, in 1986 it worked and will help bring the tourists back in 2009,10,11,12,............and once again bring the great produce of the South West swiftly to UK and European markets.

MV Innisfallen is on its way and it will bring a smile to South Wales and Southwest Ireland!!!

The €2m+ has been pledged in shares of €10k each, by companies, individuals, and small syndicates.

We are now less than €1m away from securing the ship and the service - there's a continuing series of meetings (details on the website) - Killarney today (Saturday), Clonakilty - Monday and two in Swansea on Tuesday.

To put the €1m in perspective - the overall start-up costs are in the region of €10 - 12m - so we're 90% of the way there!

More details on the website - including how to invest in the new service.

The individual pledges will make up a €3m investment - and will be secured against the value of the ship. The co-op will become a major shareholder in the new company - and will have a say in how it operates...

We're planning to open the on-line booking system on March 1st, with the first commercial sailing in mid-April

Please help if you can !

    Thanks

We live in Athlone and used to use the service to travel to South Wales.
(We travelled on the Celtic Pride I & II and Superferry)

We have been following this inspirational journey of hope by ordinary
people and business in the South West. We have been amazed by the work that has gone in to bringing this together!!

If everybody in the country could pull together like this it would go a long way to solving our problems.

TRAVEL INNISFALLEN, THE PEOPLES FERRY, THE PEOPLES PROJECT!!!!

LETS BRING THE VISITORS BACK AND GET OUR GREAT PRODUCE OUT

two weeks and an announcement is due in the next
    week.

These guys could raise Asgard II and the the new ship MV Innisfallen (new B&I) and escort her to Verlome Cork Dockyard for repair!!!!

Lets bring these great names to life!!!

best of luck to them, they'll need it. a weak pound, depression and our weather will have the brits staying at home, probably like the irish. on the plus side it'll be a bit more convenient for someone importing/buying a bike/car from the uk
