I wonder if these are actual bluetooth headphones that you could pair with a mobile phone or if they are just paired with the ipod dongle.

Nevertheless, they are still a good find. Well done OP

They're back to full price. They were half price to the 17th (according to Argos Tallaght), oh well.

    Beware...

I got those headphones with a sony mp3 player. Worked for a few weeks but became unusable because the audio became choppy.

They replaced them.... and the new ones battery life was something like half an hour after being fully charged.

No need to be sorry! It could just as well have still been discounted. Pity coz I'm really after a bluetooth headset but I'm too tight to spend more than 100 quid.

    * first, I have my personal experience I tested these ones and it's not "the best of..." any of my wired headphones are much better than these (however, I believe BT technology offers much better products). I was loosing bt communication on very short distances (just from my head to a pocket on the jacket where my phone was placed), the headphones dont produce any Bass effect at all, even the "bone" over the head is not very confortable.
    * the only reason why they sell it in "halp-price" promotion now is that 4GB mp3player "Sony NWZ-A826K" (DR-BT21G headphones included) can be now found for less than 130Eur, in Dublin. So fo those of you who paid 111Eur I can only be sorry 'coz for additional 15eur you could have bought quite good 4gig MP3 player with the same headphones.
    * in general, "BT headphones" is still very young and expensive technology and for the best products you really have to pay a fortune (most of them are not for sale, in Ireland or even the in whole EU).
    * I was searching in this area for a while and I realized my only hope is DR-BT101, the newest Sony product, released in japan on 22nd Feb '09. Still not on US or EU market..... but..... hopefully I'll be able to give you my personal review on these in about 2 weeks from now. IF I have to pay this kind of money I want to be sure it worth it.

    * one more thing for those of you who's going to buy BT headphones, if you wait I may have a spare DR-BT101 to pass to somebody else. I'll keep you updated......

Has any managed connecting the Sony DR-BT101 to a laptop running Vista (via bluetooth)?

I'd love to hear how you did it.

I did and it worked almost instantly. I don't remember the exact steps, the only issue I found was with different bluetooth profiles in Windows. Also check if Windows media palyer "bluetooth" support (plugin) is enabled. Once you have the headphones synchronized and the plugin enabled, the headphones will work as soon as you turn it on and get communication with BT adapter. This Mediaplayer plugin worked for almost everything in Windows. For non-Microsoft products (eg.WinAmp) I had to install its own plugin. Search on Google, you must find something I am sure it is as syncing any other bluetooth headset/headphones.
