Quite Typical, they even changed the name of his WWE.com show recently, just more proof WWE dont think ahead in the slighest

Going by the report on this on f4wonline.com, Dave Meltzer was extremely impressed by the recent commentating that Colt had been doing in FCW, saying that WWE are insane to release a guy so good at something that they lack depth in

Really stupid move by WWE. Im not a huge indy's mark but this is a guy that clearly had a lot of talent. They never even gave him a chance. Why do they invest so much trying to get meatheads with no personality over and then do everything possible to make sure that a guy like this has no opportunity to do what he does best. I really feel for him.

Shame that he never really got a chance.

He posted a new blog on his myspace today.

    SEEYA!!!!!

Yes. I was released by WWE.

There's only two things that are on my mind right now.

    1) Move back to Chicago
    2) Go to England and Professionally Wrestle Johnny Saint

There'll be a lot more to come, but for now, sit tight.

    Goodbye Scotty Goldman.
    Hello (again) Colt Cabana!

    GOOD TIMES, GREAT MEMORIES!

It's funny, of all the guys in ROH and elsewhere on the indys at the time, Colt was always the guy who I thought would have the best shot at WWE. There were better wrestlers than him, but he had a more mainstream kind of style, as well as the sort of comedy/promo skills that guys like Edge, Christian, Jericho and Angle had. Plus he was bigger than most others. I thought that he'd do much better than Punk in the big time

surprised they ever signed him in the first place to be honest, he is a biggish indie guy so they looked at that first before the promo thing

wwe have ross, lawler, styles, jbl (if they want), striker. they don't lack depth in that area imo

Colt is in great shape right now and the fact that indies can promote him as former WWE talent is a big advantage to him.

I dont think so..He didnt get much air time in WWE ..and most people that enjoy indie shows knew him anyway so i doubt twill make much of a difference

They have a fourth show on the way I think called Superstars, he could have being used as a commentator on that show.

    Thats a very good point.

He would get some perks from that i'd say, after all once your name is on their books then you could call yourself Ex-WWE.
Hey, just look to see what it done for Chris Harris! :p

Really sad to see him go.
Thought his WWE show was quite funny, the same as the way the dirt sheet used to be funnier or when Cena was doing 5 questions. ( I used to love them, wonder would they ever do them again :o

I assume he's a play-by-play guy, in which case JR is the only decent guy that WWE have in that area

Looks like the 30-day no-compete clause doesn't apply to him; results from PWG's card from last night-
    Zokre over Scorpio via cradle

B-Boy over TJ Perkins via RNC

El Generico over Kenny Omega via Top Rope Braaaaaaainbusssssstah.

Aries over Necro via Brainbuster onto a chair.

    - Colt Cabana shows up and is now in the title match

Hero over Tornado to retain the title over Human Tornado and Colt Cabana

Young Bucks and Paul London over The Dynasty via London SSP over

Main event said to be bat **** crazy and crowd around 400.

No compete only applies to tv shows doesnt it?, As in he couldnt show up on impact for 30 days etc, Was he on a full or development contract aswell?, I'd say dev myself but i dont know

Very surprised by this as I thought Colt was tailor made for WWE. Plenty ability and charisma to burn. I hope he goes back to ROH as his best work that I have seen has been there.

Given Cabana's closeness to Adam Pearce and the fact that his style fits in exactly with what pearce seems to like in a wrestler, I'd not be on bit surprised to see Colt as the next ROH champ.

The Figure Four Newsletter is reporting that WWE finally made the decision to fire talent Scotty Goldman after he botched a spot in a match with Umaga at a recent TV taping. In addition to this, it's being reported that Goldman did not fit the look that WWE wants right now, and is in general not the type of talent that WWE generally looks for in terms of TV stars.

    Did anyone see that match?

    I didn't see a botch.

Pretty Fcukin stupid considering how taker botched the snake eyes on Kozlov.. twice.. so who's fault was that?

And how come umaga wasn't fired over it? Like what the hell, it was smackdown! it could have been edited!!

    according to the SD Spoilers......
    * Umaga b. Scotty Goldman in a squash match.
    - After the match, Vickie says to restart it. Goldman has a petrified look on his face. Umaga gets a pop from the crowd.
Umaga is a bigger star than Scotty so I cant imagine they would be as keen to get rid of him, Scotty on the other hand...

It was botched that bad they restarted the match

He didnt kick out in time for the 3 count..match was stupidly short so Vickie came out and basically wanted Scotty to get beaten up more

That's what was written in Figure Four Newsletter because that's what Meltzer said on an audio show the other day. But he didn't give the impression that the firing was solely down to messing up a move. Sounded more like he was a guy who was going to be released eventually, so when he put his foot wrong he got cut

    Another account of it:

"Umaga was going to give Goldman his finisher, the Asiatic Spike, and he jumped to take the thumb as a bump and landed a bit awkwardly. It appeared as if Goldman was trying to sell the move a bit more dramatically, but he actually botched it as Umaga's thumb missed hitting him. Umaga pinned him as planned, and then made his way up the ramp. Vickie Guerrero then showed up and ordered the match to be restarted. Goldman took the move properly the second time."
