I need to buy about 800 Sterling in the next week to pay for an item in the North. Any ideas as to where is best, balancing exchange rate & commission ?

don't know if this will help but if you know anyone that works in a bank they can get you the sterling without paying any commission. which adds up to a lot when you're changin 800. :)
