When the banks start lending again and money start moving in the country then the people in their homes afraid to buy a new pair of underwear will take the money back out from under the mattress and return to the shops.

The money is still there, its just not moving.

We won't get back to where we were.
The property prices were artificially inflated and not based on reality.

Economies will have to put their money into other more profitable/stable areas instead. So if you're a builder, your boom time has gone.
The future is in energy, new technologies etc.
It's back to brains not brick-laying.

There is no recession. It was an idea that the Americans came up with because the Russians and the Chinese were making too much money. So, if you've got any money - don't be scared - just spend it all. The economy will be back in action in no time.

Bankers are suffering from a recession in their hairline and you watch it and you see Brian Cowen will be buying loads of hair treatments to keep it in.

That will be the real recession except if you deal with receding hairlines!!!

I have a pain in my ringpiece with this recession. I always have a feeling in the back of my mind that the whole world is coming to an end. If it's not the recession that people are talking about, it's the wars in the Middle East. If it's not that it's global warming. Then there's the scarcity of oil left in the world. I'm not saying this is all scaremongering or anything. I guess what I'm saying is... it gets you down.:(

    I'm ordering a curry about 10pm.
That should kick the economy back into life again.
