The DSi is to be released in early April.

    So says Wikipedia...

"Nintendo Europe has confirmed that the DSi will be released in Europe on April 3, 2009 for £149.99, or €170."

Yeah i seen that on the Nintendo site. I'll probably get one when it comes out, but I doubt I'll get it on release day. All in all, it looks like an improvement, but because of the bigger screens does that mean that DS games will have a black border around them?

without actually knowing i presume the screen is bigger but the resolution is the same

Yeah - got my email from GAME telling me I can preorder - looks like they will about €199.

The SD card, double touch screen, cameras and built in web browser look excellent.

I've read on a few sites today that the DSi will be half price if you trade in your old DS for it. This is for Game in the UK, so I hope they do it here too.

Does it have to be the DS lite or can it be the fat DS?

what use will the double touch screen be? I doubt they'll make many dsi only games for it..

The cameras are only .3 megapixel too.

I dunno, but I reckon i'll stick with my DS lite. This just doesn't seem to be an improvement at all.

Atavan - I think its just the Lite - http://nintendo.joystiq.com/2009/02/20/half-price-dsi-when-you-trade-in-a-console-at-game/

Rojo - a big draw for me is the storage and DSiWare. Today, Korogashi Puzzle Katamari Damacy was announced... However, considering how disappointing WiiWare has been, I'm a bit wary.

I think if Game do that offer here, I'll jump at it. It'll be €85 if they match the UK offer.

There is no double touch screen and I believe you need to download the browser.

The DSi is slightly slimmer than the lite, the screens are larger with the same resolution so there wont be any borders or anything like that. there is also no GBA slot so games like Guitar hero that use peripherals in that lot wont be compatible with DSi.

A trade in offer would be very tempting alright.

Are you telling me that GAME are lying to me?

    Yes They are:

"Unfortunately we've had a bit of a hiccup!

In this email we listed the new features that can be expected with the DSi on launch.

One of these bullet points stated that the DSi will come with 2 touch screens, unfortunately
    this is not the case.

The DSi will come with only one touch screen, the same as the DS, however both screens on the DSi have been expanded to 3.25inches.

We're obviously sorry for this miscommunication, however we hope you share our colossal excitement for the DSi release on the 3rd April. "

THey didn't apologise for the browser which they said was 'built in' in the original mail and confirmed this on their site - it has now changed to 'downloadable'

You'd get €100 for a DSlite on adverts or ebay, but i suppose you might not in a couple of months time.

Aw :( well at least there'll probably be a flood of lites in GAME stores and people selling them so you could probably pick a lite up cheap enough in a few months

Looks ok, but nothin major goin on tbh

I have the M3 and the DS internet browser

So all I'd be gaining is the camera, which wouldnt be any use anyways
