    Right, I'm sure I'm doing somethign wrong, but what I'm doing is, in the game, hitting "home" and bringing up the gfwl screen. I hit account management which brings up a browser window which brings me to xbox.com. I go to the redeem code section and I thought that was for xbox live codes? I entered the code anyway and it tells me that I'm either in the wrong region or the codes expired.

    So am I doint this wrong or have I just wasted my time on a code that won't work anymore?

    Open GFWL, go to marketplace tab, redeem code is on the lower left side, the last option of a set of 5. They may have seen implemented region blocking since anyone could otherwise sign up, not just the UK/Ireland buyers.

    you need to download the games for windows live client

    its a seperate program.

    From Windows (not from within the game) open up the Games for Windows Live! console.

    Select "Marketplace" from there, and in the bottom left there should be a "Redeem Code" button. Select this and enter the code. After confirming you should have the extra colours, chapters and campaign gear (the gear is only available in a Campaign that is created after the code is redeemed.)

    Hopefully that'll help you.

    Ah, that's the problem. I didn't realise the GFWL client was seperate. Got it working now, thanks. So:

    I installed the game
    I installed Steam
    I installed Games For Windows Live
    I setup a Steam account
    I setup a Games for Windows Live account
    I setup a THQ.com account
    I redeemed the code
    I activated the game
    I updated the game (well, had no choice as steam felt it knew better than me)

    I can finally play it.

    Anyone else remember when you would just install a game and play it? :D

    They've canceled the majority of the packs on offer for legal reasons, only offering the Chapter Command pack now. Got my key there today but I only got it for the skins and extra colors as I'm pretty much finished the single player !

    Ah yeah, sorry. Just glanced over the first post days ago and thought it was referring to eurogamer when I got back to it :P

    Edit : Tried registering my game after creating my account and clicked the link to register but can't find anything to do with registering the game at all.

    On the THQ site, there's a red register my game on the left hand side, click that, then choose the Dawn of War 2 entry in the list. That's it. No code to enter. After a few mins the gear code appears under the DoW2 entry of My Games on the THQ site.

    Thats a pain. I thopught the idea of different unlocks for Play.com/GAME/amazon.com etc was an interesting marketing idea.

    While I would like the different marine skins its not really going to impact that much on my enjoyment of the game...

    The marine colours can be made in the army painter, the real treasure of the codes are the extra colours and the chapter badges :/ hopefully they'll release a few of them soon or at least include a bunch in an expansion but hopefully not in a DLC chapter pack :/
