On a recently aired news programme there was a story of a shop owner who was owed numerous amounts of money by various people. His plan was to name and shame them by posting a list of them in his shop window for all to see. Surely this would be very risky as he would leave himself open to a liable suit for defamation if any of his accounts were wrong. What is the legal standing on this?
