This may seem like a simple & stupid question but........

I am being access by a supplier what is my position in the company.

I am registered as a sole trader does that mean I say owner, director,
    proprietor or just sole trader?

Yes you put down Owner not Director. Director is usually only used in Ltd companies like managing director, financial director etc

As a sole trader you are the Owner, doesnt sound as cool but thems the joys!

Youare whatever you want to be. Depends who's asking. Sometimes it suits to be the owner, sometimes the MD.
