We had 51 players in the Goalpost pub in Arva last night, with a first prize of €1,000 (not bad for a €25 entry fee) The winner (Alan Mc Keown) also won €50 in scalp chips.
Eileen Donohoe won €460 plus €25 in scalps for her runner up spot. Top 9 players were paid with 3rd prize €300 (Ruairi Lynch) 4th was €180, 5th was €140, 6th was €100, 7th €80, 8th €70 and 9th €60. In addition to the €2,390 in prize money on the final table, there was €20 for best hand awarded and €255 in scalp chips. Neither the Bruce poker League nor the Hibernian Poker League take anything from the prize-pools at these games.
The 4th place finisher David Reynolds is now up to 3rd position in the nationwide Bruce Poker League, this is out of over 2,000 players around the country.
This is largely due to the fact that there are so many Bruce Poker League points to be won here every Friday (and also because David is a pure quality poker player).
With 7 games remaining in this league, the Goalpost has 6 players in the top 50 which means (as things stand) instead of 1st and 2nd places qualifying we could have as many as 6 players going to the Grand Final.

We had 45 players in the Four Seasons, Monaghan last Tuesday night, the numbers have been steadily increasing there since we started games 5 weeks ago so hopefully we will break the 50 mark tonight.

23 players in Milo's Bar in Longford last night but very keen local interest and it promises to get a lot bigger.
The venue can comfortably fit 6 tables and I'd expect to have 40 plus players there by the end of next month. The game will be held here every 2nd Wednesday.
The Village Inn in Tullyvin tonight is just outside Cootehill.
There are 14 games left in the Hibernian Poker Spring League.
The League Final will be held on Sunday March 15th at 6pm in the Meadowview Inn, Cavan Town.

A quiet night in The Village Inn in Tullyvin last night, we only had 21 players but it was a new venue and word has yet to get out about the game.
Tonights game in The Goalpost in Arva should have the usual 50 runners, the last 3 weeks have each had a €1,000 first prize with top 9 getting paid.
We also have a €70 freeze-out in Mc Caffreys of Redhills on Sunday, this game starts at 6pm. €15,000 starting stack and 25 minute blinds. This normally gets 30 to 40 players.
