Wet or dry lube?

    Hi all,
What is wrong with dry lube in wet conditions? Is it ok to use dry lube (i.e. wax) for all parts that need to be oiled?
In general do you use wet lube during the winter months and dry lube during the summer (rather than swapping every second week depending on the weather)?
I have only use dry up until now but wondering if I need to be more careful about it.

    Thanks

I use dry lube year round and the only problem with that is you need to reapply after riding in the rain (I don't mean light drizzle or minor road spit obviously...any time you get enough of a soaking to wash the lube off). I find it easier to do that than to clean the crap off the drivetrain that sticks to wet lube.

The one I use is Pro Link Gold which is fairly water resistant, but I don't know if you can get it anywhere in Ireland.

I like wax, since it keeps the drivetrain nice and clean. But in wet weather it can often wash off by the middle of a spin.

It is feasible to carry a small bottle of wet lube with you and just apply it on top of the wax if rain does become an issue?
