What's going on in Rome airport?

There were loads of people wearing these masks over their mouths in one of the airports in Rome at the weekend. Pretty much all them were of Asian background.



All very strange.

mmm weird you'd expect to see that in China or something where they suffer badly with smog but not Rome

I have seen groups of school tours of asian kids in Dublin airport with those masks on too. Think its just out of courteousy/paranoia and I imagine it is bog standard to see in China etc. as they were standard issue during the bird flu outbreaks.

Yeah, its to do with bird flu. Asian propaganda had everyone out in that part of the world terrified.

See that a fair bit in Middle eastern airports. Its usually older asian women. I reckon its residual paranoia after the whole bird flu thing.

The whole was bizzare. We thought it was hilarious walking through the airport but at the same time wondered if we'd missed news of some biological attack while on the plane
