I was just wondering if anybody had come across this problem with a ford focus.

The car is running a new fully charged battery flat when it is parked up and locked.

I have changed the battery and had the alternator tested.

You'll need to have it checked to see what is drawing current. Possibly an alarm or some other consumer left on - interior light, parking lights, stereo, etc.

Any decent autoelectrician should be able to do this for you.

I have it on good authority that 00 on Ford wiring is a nightmare, poor connections, wiring chafing against its corrugated protector etc etc.

    Nightmare scenario.

Having said that, your problem sounds like some kind of parasitic draw.

    Wow.

Mine is the start of the new shape and a 1.4 LX connection with the proximity key etc. It's a black one though :p . Would you advise me to bring it to a ford main dealer? Living in South Dublin.

3 common faults to your problem,,
most common ,revised front heated windscreen modification which stops the front screen stayin on when the car is left sitting over nite.

2nd is the alternators give trouble where they are actually drawing current when the car is swithched off
and 3rd the battery must be a ford silver calcuim as this effects the smart charge system for some stupid reason

Two more Ford Focuses, 2006 & 2007......battery drains to nothing if left idle over two days, ridiculously annoying.....three times over the space of a month. No lights or additional battery drain identified....

    Keyless entry by any chance?

The problem is a micro switch in the ignition system > the circuit is staying open and needs to be replaced . Ford dealer will check and advise replacing ignition barrel assembly > also it does need a special battery as stated earlier.
If it is the ignition barrel expect about 600 euro bill
