Ubuntu live cd boot error

    Hi there,
    I've been having a few problems with my PC.....heres the thread

    I download ubuntu live cd to try to access folders on the C:\
    as there are files in My Documents I need.

    Tried running from the cd but Im getting this error:

    Loading hardware drivers... [fail]

    Any ideas greatly appreciated, as at this stage the PC got me near
    to the point of throwing it off the highest cliff I can find.
