Help with Gran Canaria/Tenerife plans

    Hi,

I was due to head away with a mate on Feb 28th for a bit of sun and craic in either Tenerife or Gran Canaria but he can't go now. Nothing has been booked but I'm thinking of heading myself. I need a break after finishing the thesis in college but I've never been on a sun holiday so I'm a bit clueless about this part if the world.

Since I'd be heading on my own (single, mid-twenties guy) where's there a bit of craic, away from the families? My Dad suggested Green Park or Field in Playla de Inglas, and with all due respect, as they say, but I don't think what he considers nice would match my tastes!

I'm getting quotes of €450 for a studio and €550 for an apartment/B+B, including the feicin single supplement (again, this is all new to me) for the above mentioned places. Is this what I can expect between the two Islands?
I'm assuming the South of Gran Canaria is best for sun too or does it make any difference?

Any tips from your experiences would be great!

    Thanks

hello lad, i not long back from tenerife. I went to a place called los cristianos. its a quiet kind of harbour right next to las americas. which is loud and a kip tbh. im only 23 and i think it was really bad. full of kids. groups of staff trying to pull you into every bar. seen one guy get knifed 2nd night there.
it all depends on what you want out of a holiday. there weather doesn go below 15

Thanks for the info! It's Las Americas that stabbing happened and if full of kids you say, but Los Cristianos is grand?

Priorities for me would be sun first, then something to do in the evenings second...

I'm off to Playa del Ingles on the 28th Feb also, staying at the Beunaventura Hotel, stayed there last year, nice big hotel with crackin big rooms. There was plenty of stuff to do there at night but we always went out and about the pubs.
