    Hey all,

I'm running an event up in Kilternan in Wicklow the weekend after next and I've been told people aren't gonna turn up unless we have the Ireland/England match on! Problem is the facilities are crap up there and I'm gonna have to bring a TV up with an ariel.

I've been offered advice such as a coat hangar but thought I'd ask you guys what you might suggest? Afaik there's no ariel up there currently to plug the TV into.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

    M

Analogue or Digital. You'll need a TV that does MPEG4 for the Digital.

In theory a coat hanger would do.

Any indoor aerial will do it for you.

Three Rock is to the West of Kilternan.

Kilternan is actually in Co. Dublin AFAIK, anyway you're pretty close to 3 Rock there (only 3km or so) so I'd imagine you wouldn't have any problems reception wise.

well i only need rte2 to be honest!! Reckon a coat hangar would work? I'm sure what the spec on the tv is, i.e. if it has a built-in tuner or whatever.

Would something like this from maplin be a good idea?

Can I recommend a Trial run if you have a chance...Might be worth testing first

check this thread for internal aerial recommendations:

the UHF aerial is the one you want to get reception from 3-Rock, but it will depend on whether there are any hills etc in the way. Other option is a portable satellite kit plugged into a Sky box. Starting to get a bit expensive there though.
