Most Frustrating Incident ....?

Can be on or off the golf course. I have two, the first one is I was playing my home course (just after we had course changes, old course record was obviously gotton rid off) ... I was -2 after 15 (bogey free) and was going for the par 5 16th in 2 with a 4 wood (Was only about 210 yards out) .. ended up snap hooking it OB and made double ... finished level (I was seriously raging). The second incident, myself two other junior members (I was also a junior at the time) and a guy playing off +3 played in a scramble (also in my home club) ... we won the scramble by a crazy amount of shots if I remember correctly. For the winners there was 4 Powacaddys ... we ended up getting DQ'd because of some lclub rule that there was a maxium of 2 Junior members per team ... for our troubles I think they gave us 12 top flights between us. :pac:

Good enough for ye ye cheeky pup:D

3 juniors and their inflated handicaps, and a plus three man to get you around the course in a scramble, disgraceful;)

In fairness they should never have let you pay in and head out playin, the words stable door and horse come to mind:eek:

Hard luck, poor old Damow247 won our captains prize but couldn't claim it because he was a junior, he took the sweep money though, and I'm still waitin for a pint out of it:D

But we were all low handicap juniors ... I think I was 5/6 at the time and the other two boys were about 4/5. That's unlucky about winning the captains and not being able to get the prize. I remember a few years back the captain let all juniors play in his prize and he said if a junior won they could have first place ... there would have been mayham amongst the senior members.

I was -3 playing 18. Hit a drive straight down the middle to about 150 out. I was sure course record was -4 so needed a birdie to equal it. Knocked it in to 10-12 feet. Ended up 3 putting for -2. When i got back in i was told course record was only -2. I was beaten to it on the back 9.:(

How was a junior allowed to play in the captains day.In our place it's full members only.

Juniors under a 10 handicap are allowed play but cannot win.

Being 4 under after 12 holes and then bogeying the last 6. That was pretty grim.

Making birdies on 15, 16, 17 and lipping out on 18 for birdie, only to lose the President's Prize on the back 9.

Getting to the scratch matchplay final in two clubs in the same week and losing both matches on the 18th.

Getting to the semi-final of the handicap matchplay in the same year and losing to a birdie on the last.

Getting hammerd in the sem-final of the fourball match-play by two high handicap players who had pretty close to a level par best ball.

But most frustrating at all that same year was not getting a fair crack of the whip in interclub teams, despite having the best matchplay record in the club :(

The most annoying moment for me was.......

I was 4 under going down the last ... all I needed was a par and the captain's prize was mine.... I was left with a tap-in for an amazing bridie.... captain's prize was in the bag .... I was going for the course record......then the alarm clock went off and I had to get up for work....;)

Cheers. There is no chance of a junior getting on the timesheet for the captains in wexford, not even apprentices or students. You half to be a full member to play in the majors ie captains, presidents and the free sub.

Losing the Fred Daly All Ireland final this year to Rosslare. It came down to match no.2 , 3rd playoff hole, our fella horseshoes for par :( We could have been off to La Manga to compete in the Europeans! Great experience nonetheless.

Watching my bro throw my sandwedge into a tree and it not coming down in Gort years ago. It eventually dropped two weeks later. Really funny looking back now:D
