Why do blinds start at 100-200?

Whats the point in giving a 20k stack if you start the blinds that high, total crapshoot after a few hours. waste of time.

Surely if big slick are running the second one, ask for advice on structures or just call it bingo

Mick/Mac, i think if sharpen up the structures and you could get a big crowd for this. The set up is good, just add more levels, 20k is a great stack, it just gets too much of a gamble too quick this way. I dont think people will travel for a tournament that moves so fast

    Just my 2c, GL

We think the blind structure is more than fair. It's a 40 minute clock with the same blind structure as a bigslick event. The only difference is we're starting at 100-200 instead of 50-100. The 20k starting stack is more than enough we feel with the 40 minute clock to allow you to play skilled poker and make moves.

P.S. I have ice cream there for ya Richie.

Could you post structure, as there will be no 25 chips in play how are u going to play the 150/300 level? What level do ante's start if there are any???

    thanks

Sorry Pgodkin, your right, blind structure won't be the same as bigslick due to lack of 25 chips. Will have finalised blind structures up asap. Any advice from you guys once structure is up and finalised would be appreciated if you think the final structure doesn't allow enough time for play. :)

You're seriously better off having all levels from 25-50 and only having a 10k starting stack, it allows for far more play.

The way it currently is at the start of level 2, 200-400 the starting stack will only be 50bb's.

edit - also Richie is on a diet, says he's getting in shape, no ice cream for him.

    Agree with above

    look at it this way
Blind Level Starting Stack Starting Stack In relation to Big Blinds
    100-200 20,000 100 Big Blinds
    200-400 20,000 50 Big Blinds
    300-600 20,000 34 Big Blinds

A Bad opening level and it becomes a shove fest fairly quickly:eek:, where as if you leave it as below, it doesn't as the stacks vs blind levels are well balanced.

Blind Level Starting Stack Starting Stack In relation to Big Blinds
    25-50 10,000 200 Big Blinds
    50-100 10,000 100 Big Blinds
    100-200 10,000 50 Big Blinds
    150-300 10,000 33 Big Blinds
    200-400 10,000 25 Big Blinds

If you need to move the tournment on start an ante re-run the 100-200 level with an 25 ante.

Just a suggestion, but look at some of JP's tournies or even the IPC league 300 games. Hope this helps :)

The structure you mention is what big slick use for rebuy events when total chips can be up to 40k, there freezeout structures are totally different
