    Hi Folks,

Firstly I apologise as I know this must have been asked before but I cannot find the answers. (not since 2005 anyway, and I have a feeling details may have changed since then).

I currently have a sky box and dish. I have had this for over 2 years so it is my understanding that they are mine to keep even if I disconnect? Coudl be wrong)

What I was hoping to do was one of 2 things.

    1. Cancel sky, get missus to sign up for free sky+ box and move this sky box upstairs for freeview.

    2. Just cancel sky and use box for freeview.

Questions are really very basic. What channels are now available with frreview in the Limerick area? And is this possible with the sky box or have sky figured out a way to block this?

    Thanks alot for your time.

you own the dish and box.

to find out what channels you will have just remove the card.

    (freeview / freesat / fta, ftv )

I take it that what you mean is whats on satellite for free:)

if you cancel will you be able to get rte1,2 ands tv3 on aerial? (if you watch these)

Thanks for the reply. I had no idea you could get them without some sort of a card inserted. There really is not very much at all! Might still be an option for the bedroom as bbc/itv is still there.

For some reason I thought more channels were available for free. I can even get channel 4 without the card.

Irish card is useless for Freeview unlike the uk version. The EPG versions Channel 4, E4, More 4, Five Life and Fiver and Sky3 are available on an expired English card but not an Irish one. Look at the link below for a full list of Free To Air channels that can be added via Other Channels.

    Hope this helps.
