    Hi guys.
Need some advice please. I work in catering field, mainly Monday to Friday but sometimes required for functions on weekends. Business is quiet and the boss wants me to work a 3 day week. I don't have a problem with this but don't know how it should work.

Can he decide which 3 days i work in a week? What if he says I have to work 4 or days? Do I ask for overtime? How does this affect holiday entitlements? Can I sign on for the other days?

This is all new to me and while I want to help I don't want to be taken for a ride either.

    thanks

The best thing you can do is go down to your local citizen advice center and tell them your situation or you can ring 1890777121 and explain over the phone

    Messy.

The first thing I'd do is talk to your employer, telling him that you'd like to work three days a week only so you can claim the dole for the other two days.

It's up to you and him whether you want to accept cash under the table for an extra day here and there, but that would be illegal, of course.
