Im going to Saalbach next saturday the 28th and i cant bleedin wait!

Just checked the snow report, they had a bit of a drought throughout Jan and start of Feb, last time i checked they had 145cm (Mountain) 50cm (Valley).

Its been snowing now the last weekend and now the snow depths are:
    200cm (Mountain) 105cm (Valley)

Man that's a lot of snow in one week! and its all fresh! Plus i checked the weather report and its set to snow for the coming week! Talk about perfect snow conditions :D:D

Anyway just thought I'd let you know if anyone is heading there soon!

Just look at those mountains! :)

I was in Saalbach in Jan, and we're going to go back in March. Snow has been fantastic this year... so I reckon the season will carry on well into April.

Just got back from Saalbach and despite my worries about the weather i had an amazing time. The best snowboarding i have done yet! Now the conditions were not the best i have ever seen, plenty of snow, but the warmer temps made the slopes a bit icy in the morning, strange as it sounds. The slopes were groomed at night while the snow was still soft and then it froze hard over night, but 1 or 2 hours into the day it softened up nicely.

Anyone who is going there tomorrow is in for a treat, temperatures drop dramatically today and it has been snowing for 24 hours straight. We had avalanche sirens going off and we could hear blasting all morning, that means one thing, lots of new snow! I was damn jealous leaving!

Another good thing about Saalbach is you can put your lift card number in on the Saalbach website and see how many lifts and kilometers you have skied.
I clocked in at 147km over 6 days, used all 75 lifts in the whole Saalbach/Hinterglemm area and snowboarded 2 FIS slopes :)

Now the geek in me loves that idea. Will have to be tracking my distance with the gps from now on to see how we all compare at the end of the seasons. :D
