Im with AXA and have comprehensive which will allow me to drive other cars up to 2.5l, but does that include turbo charged cars?

See the father is going over to the uk on friday to look at a Saab 9-3 2.3l turbo and he will let me drive it if I am insured.

Don't see why not, but check your policy or ring Axa to be sure.

Check with insurer but most say that the other car needs to be insured itself by someone else, which it wont be if you are just taking it back from the UK i presume. otherwise people could get a few cars and just insure which ever is going to be cheapest.

This was the case with my last insurer. I could drive any other car with no limit on size of engine although other car needed a insurance policy with someone else. And the cover only allowed TPFT on the other cars.

As the others have said call your insurance company. But one thing to be aware of is that if you are driving on your driving other cars extentsion, the car you are driving only has third party cover. If you crash you get no money for the car your driving and you'll owe you father a 9-3, unless someone else is at fault and you can sue them.

I have been driving other cars for over 20 years , on the basis that my own cover said that was ok. I have never seen the restriction that the other car must be covered, . I have heard dozens saying it. have been insured with many companies,
