Had a thread in AH as I didn't think it was real, but it is :(

Someone accessed my PayPal account and bought a 400euro laptop on eBay

I spotted it, account was set to limited

    I started a PayPal dispute/unauthorised transaction
    Changed Password
    Changed Security Questions

Rang the bank - they confirmed payment went through. Asked for chargeback, they said to contact PayPal first and try to resolve it

Knowing that PayPal have a sh1te customer service, what would be the best thing to do to get my money back?

    Thanks folks

Contact the recipient, and tell them not to send the laptop, and ask them to refund the payment. Also tell Paypal what happened.

    SORTED!

PayPal accepted that it was a fraudulent transaction, seller refunded all the money, money now back in Credit Card

All in less than 18 hours - A new PayPal record??

Good result. Good for the seller too, as he would have been out of pocket if he had sent the laptop.

Yup, I had him e-mailed within an hour of auction end (as I got the email from PayPal) warning him not to send it. If he'd have sent the laptop it could have been a different story

Now that it's all done and dusted, here's a Google Map of the delivery address that the scammer gave:

    http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&source=s_q&hl=en&geocode=&q=Jl.Parangtritis,+Mantrijeron,+Yogyakarta&sll=-7.819534,110.36508&sspn=0.002381,0.003455&ie=UTF8&ll=-7.819571,110.367301&spn=0.004762,0.010986&t=h&z=17

It's within about within a 60 house radius of the "A" icon - FFS, there's swimming pools in half thouse houses

Bangalore? I would hope the seller would have smelled a rat. Where was the seller based actually?
