    Hello all,

Just wondering if anyone has experience in commission-only based sales positions?

This isn't for some dodgy marketing/sales companies as mentioned in another thread.

Just want to know if people were able to make an average income?

I worked on Commission only in Recruitment a while back. It was good and bad!

Have you ever worked in sales before and know what it's like? Sales is pretty much one of those thing's you are either good at or not, and you will find out fairly quickly which one you are.

Commission only can be good but depends on what your percentages are, i.e. 20% of everything you sell.

Plus you have to see who your target audience is going to be. Everyone is watching their money these days so are you confident you will be able to sell your product.

When I did it the market was booming so there was plenty of money to be made, I wouldn't do it now though.

If you are out of work and have this opportunity then there is no harm in having a look in to it. Likewise if you have some saving's to keep you going.

    Hope that helps!

    Edit:

Sorry didn't mention the income part. I made above average because at the time the industry was booming. The more you want to make the more you will have to work so I wouldn't think a commission only job is your typical 9-5, I generally worked up to 12 hours a day.
