Just curious but dealing with a company on the phone today to sort a direct debit and when T&c's were explained was told they cannot increase dd amount without informing me in writing, By law.
So how come sky have upped my package price 3 times without a word?
only noticed this when checking statements during call.
It's only a euro or so over a year but that's not the point:mad:

Sorry this maybe should have been in consumer issues, just wanted to know is this same for everyone?

I've always been notified by standalone letter, or one thrown in with the Sky Magazine.

They are obliged, under the Direct Debit scheme, to notifiy you, in advance, of any changes (but not each month, because the amount is the same; just changes). I don't know about the legalities after that. If you pay by credit card, then that's not covered by the Direct Debit contract.

pay by dd, no letter arrived and didn't see anything in with sky mag other than basic cover letter. sometimes mag doesn't arrive, will be on the phone (again) in morning, but after 3 calls they still can't get my name right or address, close to cancelling.
