Chicken fillet baguette in Londis on €1.63 this week. Had one today, full size baguette, plenty of chicken, very tasty. Got mine at londis near molly malone statue, but saw sign up at other branches too.

I had one on Monday, wasn't the best I've had but at that price you can't go very wrong

Is it just Londis in Dublin or something going by the thread.I was in my local Londis but didn't see anything in the way of signs about a Chicken Fillet Roll for €1.63

+1 ive had 3 this week so far,

its seems all londis stores in dublin are doing it.
exact same as normal chicken fillet rolls they do except about 3 euro cheaper!

Going to try one of these for lunch today, hopefully will be okay.

Btw Super Value on Aston Quay are doing hot chicken fillet rolls with any fillings you like ( the Londis one is lettuce and tomato only ) and a can of coke for €3.99. Not quite a bargain but still a saving nonetheless.

Just scoffed one of these , pretty decent for the price.

On my way to Londis at the bottom of Grafton St I paased the Spar which has a sign up with an offer on.
Any sandwich with your choice of 2 cold fillings+500ml Ballygown water+Kit-Kat bar= €2.95. Not sure if it is nationwide or otherwise, maybe someone else can let us know if it is elsewhere?

The sign the offer is posted on says in small letters down the bottom 'Lettuce and Tomato only'. Guess its just a matter of how anal the person behind the counter is but thats what the offer says.

M&S still have their sandwich + crisps + mineral for €2.75 as well

Think I should add a few more cheap eats around town :)

Russell Court Hotel, Hardcourt St. Great for a carvery lunch. Mains range from €7.50-€9. Portions are huge, so big two people could share if your not too hungry. They also have a loyalty card with 1 lunch free with every 10 which helps knock 10% off the price, ie €6.75 per lunch if you collect 10 stamps=good value.
I've heard Copper Face Jacks up the road has similar prices but I just can't bring myself into that place for lunch. I'd be too paranoid I'd step on some broken glass from the night before:D

The Duke, Duke St. just off Grafton. Ask for a half portion at the carvery. The highly strung Swiss chef will:rolleyes: but still serve you up a nice meal. Quite a good sized portion for lunch considering a full one is on a huge oval plate and usually turns out to be waaay too much. Used to be a real bargain when it was €6.50 but went up recently to €7.50:( Still good value for a pub in the Grafton St area though. Btw you can help yourself to as much brown bread from the basket as you wish and the rest of the barstaff there are top notch when it comes to service.

Buttery, Trinity College. Visitors welcome, says so on their sign. Mains ( eg lasagne & garlic bread ) from €4.65. Also the Dining Hall above the Buttery, mains from around €6-7 and you get to sit in salubrious surroundings that the likes of Wilde once dined in:p

Irish Film Center, Temple Bar. Mains are around €7-9 and its waitress service. Expect lots of students, unemployed and film buffs. Food isn't quite top notch but probably the cheapest eats anywhere in Dublin's Cultural:rolleyes:Quarter.

All these prices are available every day rather than being weekly offers.
    Enjoy:)

Thanks for the info helps us students :) Though regarding the above, the dining hall is nice but i'd avoid the Buttery like the plague, food is terrible!

I take that back, I had another one with spicy chicken and it was delicious. It's been so long since I had these that I forgot my preference.
