Hi ,hoping someone might have knowledge of a problem I'm having.
Basically ,my magenta cartridge (original) fails after a short amount of uses.
I'm on my third cartridge now and it has failed after a few prints. It's annoying me because I can't print anything without all functioning cartridges and they're 12 euro each:mad:

If anyone has any help with this ,I'd be most greatful.

    Thanks.

I had a problem with the printer not recognising 2 of the 3 new cartridges I bought. Ended up getting 2 new ones and it worked then.

Still dont know whether it was the printer or the cartridges that were broke but it was a company printer so getting new cartridges wasnt such a big issue.

    Mine was a DX7000F

a little more info would be handy , model of printer , have the carts ink left in them? or are they not being recognised ? are they orignal epson carts? or are they compatibles?

I've a DX4950 and the cartridges gave up a few times. The EPSON software was reading full when there was no ink coming out! The cartridges dry out and you have to tap them until the ink starts flowing again.
So I got a full set plus a spare blank on a well known Irish Ink jet site for 15 euro! ;-)
The message about Genuine Cartridges comes up and you skip it! I made up a test sheet in the meantime with "small" Black Magenta Cyan and Yellow boxes and use it to gauge the levels.
    Hope This helps!

you say the original carts were drying up ? did you leave the printer for a long time without printing and i mean months? if the only problem was the ink drying up the easiest way to unclog this would be to soak the exit of the cart in some warm water or for really tough clogs a little window cleaner with added bleach works wonders ,

The black would be used daily, the others less so but maybe once a week for a photo etc (maybe it's got to do with the cartridge dimensions, they're skinny ?)
The only problem I have now is the scanning function won't work.
After reinstalling drivers everything works except the PC can't see the MFP!
    It'll print and copy fine!
    Any help appreciated!

thats really strange ,the best place for advice would be the following forum
    http://www.nifty-stuff.com/forum/index.php
its mainly for canon printers but they're good with other brands as well,
the last epson i had nearly drove me nuts and eventually drove me to a canon printer
