Going to a concert in a couple of months and thinking we might get the train instead of driving. Would be getting the train into Heuston.
Just wondering which end would be better to get a hotel. If we got a hotel down near the station , are taxis available outside the Point after concerts?. Or would we be better getting a hotel closer to the Point within walking distance after the concert.:;)

Didn't you hear? There is an over supply of taxis in Dublin ;)

Best to pick a hotel in the city center that gives you some value rather than restricting yourself to a certain area. Hotels offering good value are plentiful, taxis are also plentiful, the value they offer is debatable.

Thanks, really was just wondering are taxis usually outside there after events to hop into or would we have to flag one down.

Taxis aren't allowed up right outside the o2 iirc, last I heard gardaí were giving tickets to drivers stopped up there. Walk down the quays towards town and you'll have no problem getting one.

Probably would have been best just to ask that so

No official rank but there will be plenty of taxis around.

Plenty of taxis around but the traffic would be nuts, taxi meter will be going mad while you sit in traffic, Anytime Im there I walk across the toll bridge through the gap and up the street to Ringsend, plenty of taxis pass through there and youve got a clear run up pearse street to your city hotel, or try d4hotels.com they have some good offers at the moment, I booked a room there for €20.09 recently.
