    Hello People,

I reciently decided to bleach my hair, I have been doing so for about 4 months now and I cannot get it the platinum blonde colour. No mater what I do it hasa yellowish tinge to it.

Does anyone have advise on how to get it white??

I have been looking for Ash Toner to remove it but cannot locate it in Sligo, Also I have a violet shampoo that shud have the same effect, but it does not....

    Any advise??

    thanx

    Poppa:cool:

you have to use toners, you will never get platinum blonde using bleach.
your best bet is to go to a salon and get it done professionally, toners have to be mixer properly and you can't just buy them in boots etc.

It's definitely best to go to a salon. It's a complicated process.

that salon was messing you around!
    name and shame them!
you need to tone it and use a blue rinse shampoo to keep the platinum-ness in it!

You need a purple toner to neutralise the yellow, go back to the salon, or to a different one maybe, and ask them to put it in for you.

I was wondering if I put another coat of bleach over my hair would it take the yellowish tinge from it???

what ever salon you went to i wouldn't go back to them again. If they put a toner in your hair and it's still them same something went wrong along the way...i hope they didn't charge you!!!

Anyway about putting more bleach on your hair...mmmmm....... without seeing your hair and knowing the condition of it it's really hard to say. You could do even more damage to your hair. How dark was your hair to begin with, with dark hair it can take a few goes to get it white enough and then tone it. When you bleach your hair it goes through different colour stages...red...orange.....yellow....white. Many people will not achieve white and will be left with yellow patches in their hair and will have to redo it. I find it hard to believe that after 4 months of trying the salon didn't get you to where you wanted to be!!! Doesn't say much for that salon.Yes it can take a while but not 4 months.

What condition do you feel your hair is in at the moment.... if you feel that it can handle another bleach process then do it, if not then start with treatments to help improve you hair and do it again, i know that's not much help since you dont want to be walking around with yellow patches in your hair... but i cant say 100% as i've not seen your hair.

Yes a salon would be better but in these times people cant afford to be going to salon. I doubt the salon will fix it for you free cause it can take a couple of goes, but they should of explained this to you in the beginning so you knew what cost was going to be involved.

You wont find toners in boots, there professional products that are sold to trade only. You could try your local hair and beauty supplier they might take pity on you and sell it to you ( although they shouldn't but we all know how easy it is to walk into sally and buy stuff ) But if you do bleach your hair again it's very likely that you will need a toner.

Good luck hope you eventually get to the platinum blonde that you want.

I'm assuming your hair is already coloured? ( not many natural blondes around) if it's not already coloured you wont need to use bleach.

If it is already coloured then to go lighter you will need bleach as colour wont lift colour.

Since you put a :( after cost i'm assumming you want some where that reasonable with price. I've heard a few people commenting on the chinese salons one in bachelor's walk saying they were very reasonably priced and they did a good job. Apart from if you see a special offer advertised, or here something from friends or family, the only way to come prices is to ring up and ask.

Also you could try one of the hairdressing school like robert chambers or david marshall. I know their only training but they are fully supervised and there not going to let someone that hasn't done it before do your hair. If not on an actual person they would have practiced on their blocks. And like i said someone will be watching them.

You could also consider using a mobile hairdresser, they are nearly always much cheaper than salons cause they dont have the same over heads, I'm a mobile hairdresser and i charge from €25 - €60 for highlights, deoending on what you having done.

you wont need bleach then. Just a colour, and to make it a bit brighter they might add a bit of blonding creme. Should turn out really well since your naturally light anyway.
