Looking for device to play Divx and MP3s

I travel a lot with work and find I'd be more interested in sticking on a film or TV show than listening to MP3s, though having the option to play MP3s every now and then would also be a bonus.

I have my Windows Media Center setup so that it copies my recorded TV and films over to my Windows Home Server and creates Divx versions of them to reduce the filesize. So I guess what I’m looking for is a portable device that will play Divx without the need for conversion to another format while also supporting MP3 playback.

I haven’t looked into this area in a good few years so not at all sure what is available out there.

Would be great to find a device that has:

-a decent size screen (bigger than iTouch) that has good visibility in daylight
-support for Divx plus maybe other formats (e.g. WMV) for flexibility
-good battery life/interchangeable battery – very important as main use would be in airports or on flights or trains
-MP3 playback – not too fussy about the quality of the audio
-a pricetag under say €400 (would look to buy online from UK or US if a decent saving was to be had)
-a decent size hard-drive or flashdrive. Doesn’t need to be massive though as I’d probably just upload new media before each trip.
-an easy to use interface (I hate iTunes so software that is simple to use would be a bonus).

    Thanks for any suggestions

A netbook might be your best option, the only other stuff that comes to mind is the Cowon A2 (old but still one of the best), O2 (newer flash memory based player, ridiculously glossy screen and useless GUI) or A3 (the A2's more powerful replacement, very good but abismal audio battery life), or the Archos 5, bearing in mind that video battery life on the Archos isn't anywhere near as good as what the specs page claims.

If I could recommend a player with a big screen and a removable battery I would, as I can't then researching alternative charging solutions like battery packs might be a good way to go.

I'm now using my Samsung NC10 as my DIVX player whilst away travelling with work. Check the various reviews, it's the best of current gen netbooks 10inch screen and 6 hour+ battery. (Its the same size as a
portable DVD player but with much better battery and other uses).

Not what you'd use for MP3 listening due to size but ideal for movies and
using in hotels or on flights.

Cheers for that lads. Went ahead and ordered an NC10 as it really does seem to fit the bill for what I need. I'll pickup a cheapo MP3 player if I feel the need.

Looking forward to getting my hands on the NC10 - that battery life sounds excellent and it'll keep me busy on most flights.
