HELP!!! I deleted a file than i realy need back!

    Hi guys hears what happened... I deleted a dwg file and empted the recycle bin. I thought i had made a copy of the file but i only made a shortcut to it. Is it completely gone??? I saw some 'undeleting1 programs on the internet but you have to pay for them. Is there any free ones (or trial ones that will recover a file) out there? Or can i do it with out these?

    Im on vista.

    PLEASE! I really need help on this.:confused:

    Dont write to the drive the file was located on i.e. stop using that computer . Using another PC download Recuva http://www.recuva.com/ and save it to a thumb drive or CD and run it on the Vista machine .

    If you have a look around this forum you'll see plenty of free recovery software . Recuva is just one option but there are plenty of equally good applications . The good ones generally get a lot and miss a few but there is no perfect utility .

    Thanks for the help lads its scanning now, it says it might take a while. I'll give u an update on how i get on.
