Selling on Ebay Without a Photo

I have a relatively expensive fashion item which I'd like to sell on Ebay. The problem is that it is an item where the design and colour of the item is likely to be critical to whether someone would like to buy it or not. The item is brand new and its wrapped in such a way that most of the item isn't visible. If I opened the packing, then it may not be regarded as 'New', yet I cannot photograph it inside the wrapping and despite extensive searches of the net, the best I can find is a photo of the same item but in a completely different colour.

Has anyone else had a similar problem with selling an item on Ebay and if so, what did you do ? and did you manage to achieve a sale ?

You could just take a picture of the item as is and explain in your description that you don't want to take it out of the packaging as it wouldn't be brand new if you did. Having A picture is better than NO picture at all. It shows at least that you have the item. You could take additional photographs showing that it's well sealed and explain that you want to keep the item brand spanking new for the buyer.

Or just say you had to take it out of the wrapping to photograph it so it is still new but 'may' be unsuitable to give as a gift. With designer stuff they're going to want to see it, or else how will they know they like it?
