Sky+ box from store, can i use it?

    Can anyone adviseIf I buy sky+ box from online store (not sky) can I use it?I have 2 connections from satellite, and was going to get the 250gb box instead of paying sky+ for 40gb box, as I don't have HD so don't want to pay the monthly rent Will sky give me the info I need to use my existing standard sky card in the sky+ box?Would appreciate any help

    It won't record at all without a Sky+ subscription.

    Without a card it gets the free channels (just receive, no record). As does your existing box.

    and how do i get a sky+ subscription?will it cost me?or should i just bite bullet and pay €200 to sky for a crappy little 40gb box?
