I think the extra 75c sky want to charge may have pushed me over the edge. Can anyone recommend me a freesat PVR?

I have Sky+ at the moment so would ideally need similar functionality in Dublin. Need to record the Soaps on BBC and ITV for the Mrs.

Can they record 2 channels at a time?

    Thanks.

the Humax FOXSAT-HDR is very expensive over 300 euro

iv just bought a Mvision HD200 Combo for 146 euro(second hand) they usually cost 214 euro

    which im delighted with

    looking very forward to it

but the let down is you can only record 1 station

cant watch one thing and record another programme

Yeah, but he specifically asked for a Freesat PVR.

A Mvision HD200 isn't Freesat, nor does it have two tuners, 7-day EPG and internal HDD for proper PVR duties.

The Foxsat HDR is excellent value for money - it has 2 high def tuners, usb ports, CI slot, ethernet card and a 320gb hard disk. It is very well built, easy to use, runs quietly, doesn't consume much power on standby and doesn't get hot enough to fry an egg on. The freeaat+ tricks (series record, alternative suggestions etc.) all work well. All for £300!

If you buy a combo you still have to add around €70-€100 for a hard drive (yet another plug), and get it working. Then you'd have no EPG on sat channels for easy recording, no freesat+ and you can only watch/record 1 channel at a time.

Combos are great for having all channels (irish and UK) together but when it comes to recording, you can't beat a proper dedicated PVR.
