Pilot on Sunday - watched it this evening.

Obnoxious baseball player drops out of the major leagues and returns to his home town to bunk with his brother's family while he figures out what to do next.

The actor (Danny McBride) has been in other things (that I haven't seen) and Will Ferrell has an executive producer credit. US critics have been mixed.

My judgment on pilots has been wrong before, so I'm staying on the fence on this one, but I'm going to watch it again - 22 minutes I don't regret.

Saw the pilot last Summer... quite enjoyed it then but on reflection, it was actually a big ol' pile of meh!

Danny McBride can be very funny.. he was wasted in this!

I watched what I presume was the pilot last night. I'm a bit undecided about it but it's been picked up for a series?

Looks like it Robbo... It definitely started officially on Sunday.
Since its a HBO show, it should get a full season run.

I love this show its the funniest thing TV program I have seen in years, though it will get boring pretty fast. The type of humor in it would only last for the duration of a film if you know what i mean. It has been picked up for 6 episodes. Perfect! Unfortunately they cut two of my favorite scenes from the pilot we saw in summer.

When Kenny is in the shower it cuts the part out where the geek teacher comes in and tries to make friends Kenny, also they cut out the bit where Kenny tells his brothers wife the shut up for a second really ignorantly when he first sees his nephew on his jet ski. That part was so funny!

lol that was great, did they leave in the bit at the end at the credits are roliing up when he is on the jet ski with your 1 and then he just leaves her in the water that was good as well.

Going to revive this thread, could find another one on Eastbound and Down.

Anyways, watched the first 6 episodes over the weekend and it is brilliant. Not going to be everyones cup of tea as it's not slapstick in your face comedy.

The guys involved also made a movie called the Foot Fist Way, Eastbound is very similar to this humour-wise. There is nothing else like this on TV and it's a breath of fresh air.

Been a fan of Danny McBride since his first line in a movie called Hot Rod and his bit parts in other movies until now have been great so i was delighted to find this TV show.

Now it's time to dig up the pilot with extra scenes.
