Them things are pretty useless in my opinion. I injured myself years ago using one. Having said that I used it to develop fast and flexible kicking, however I found out to by detrement that static stretching and dynamic movement don't go together.

What is it you want to become flexible for?

Umm, do you mean you tried to use it for that and it didn't work?

I used one and injured myself as well many years ago. Haven't used it since. You simply sit on it and crank that thing and let it spread your legs more and more appart. It forces unnatural motion on your hips.

Doesn't sound very scientific, can't you get the same stretch by lowering yourself while standing?

Have any of you tried using one of those pilates machines? They look a little more dynamic
