Wireless printer server required?

I have a p.c. and laptop. Currently the pc and printer are in my hallway, connected by usb cable. I use a wireless eircom broadband router for both computers. At the minute, when I want to print from my laptop, I connect it using the usb cable from the p.c. which is a bit akward, but no big deal.

Now, though, I need more space where the p.c. is and moving the printer into a cupboard in another room would do.

Is a wireless printer server what i'm looking for and will this operate both computers?

Is there another way, as the servers seem quite expensive for what they do. Would Bluetooth work, I have 2 dongles (easy there girls)?

My printer is a canon mp610. the p.c has the little aerial jobbie out the back and the laptop has wireless capamability. (I studied i.t. in M.I.T. Boston, as you can see)

Thanks in advance tech type people.:D

It's possible to share your printer, which is connected to your PC, via the router.

As long as your laptop can see your PC and as long as the PC is on then you can print from the laptop wirelessly.

Just open up the printers icon in control-panal, right-click on the printer and choose 'sharing'.

    Four options:
Run long USB cable from PC to printer - requires PC to be on, cable to be run
Run ethernet cable from router to wired print server in cupboard - requires cable to be run, wired print server to be purchased
    Do what you said
Buy a new printer that has wireless printing built in

    Thanks for suggestions.

Was away for a couple of days there, so didn't get a chance to check before this.

    I'll give it a go.
