Cigarette lighter

I picked up one of those Belkin ipod transmitters during the week and it's going great, but it's kinda awkward because of where the lighter is in my 05 Focus. The only way to connect it and still see the ipod screen is to put in a place where it is then awkward to change gears (and in fact discovered today that once I'm in fifth, I can't see the screen at all). Is it possible to get an extension for the cigarette lighter to sort of "draw" it out of its awkward spot, or do I just have to live with it?

PS: This is the transmitter I have: http://catalog.belkin.com/IWCatProductPage.process?Product_Id=393427

I have one of them, great little yokes.

Only problem is the plug is not the best fitting and tends to come loose from the lighter port now and again

I have one of those, only it has a USB port as well. Pretty handy, if not that tidy looking.

So there's a cable that goes into the existing lighter and then a multi socket adapter at the front? That looks like something that will move around willy nilly with the movement of the car? If I attach my transmitter to that, it'll end up either in the footwell or wrapped around the steering wheel. I'd be looking for something more sturdy I think.

ETA: I'd never have thought of checking Halfords though, so thanks for that :)
