    Hi

I purchased a 2nd hand skoda octavia 2007 last week.

Since then lots of small little chips have started appearing on the windsceen.

I haven't hit any stones or anything but they seem too be mulitplying now.

Anyone know what could be causing them?

There just seem too be more and more every time I look, quite annoying

It sounds like the screen was already badly chipped and has been given a lash up repair by the previous owner. There are professional treatments for chips (Autoglass offer them for example) but compounds that are supposed to do the job can be bought on Ebay for DIY repairs. I have never tried them and I would have grave doubts about their effectiveness. It would be worth talking to a local windcreen replacement firm about it, or Autoglass if there's one in your area.

Many insurances policies have a windscreen cover that doesnt affect your NCD so it may not cost you anything to fix.

Thanks I think I'll call autoglass and get them too sort it.

The only thing is that there are all quite small?

I'm wondering would they be too small yet too get them repaired or since there is now more then 5 of them is it best just too get it looked at?

if your motor insurance policy covers windscreen cover if would be better of replacing the windscreen rather then going for a treatment.

I wouldn't mind if it was that..at least I'd know where they are coming from.

However I'm rather a careful driver...didn't hit anything that i noticed.
