Hi, I've taken a look around the forum but can't seem to find the answer to my question. Can a holder of a full american drivers license be the accompanying driver? If not and we are stopped, is there any repercussions for the american?
    Thanks in advance!

The accompanying driver must hold a full Irish licence for 2 years or a licence from an EU country or EEA country (Norway, Switzerland). So an Amercan licence is no good.
Any repercussions will be on you not your passanger

There is never any reprecussions for any accompanied passenger. It is the holder of the Learner Permit who is responsible for ensuring that they are 'above board'. Otherwise, the learner is deemed to be driving unaccompanied.
